Letter to the Prime Minister Concerning the CN Rail Strike

The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, P.C., M.P.

Prime Minister of Canada

House of Commons

Ottawa ON K1A 0A6

Dear Prime Minister:

I am writing to urge you to immediately recall Parliament to deal with the serious impacts of the CN Rail Strike.

I have spoken to many local farmers, agri-business owners, and agricultural leaders who have expressed their serious concerns. This strike is having a devastating impact on farmers who rely on propane to dry their crops, heat their barns and process their commodities.

Some farmers have been told to ration their propane supply, while others have been cut off altogether. Still more have been told to pause their harvests because there will not be enough propane to dry their crops.

This is only further worsening the challenges that farmers are already facing with this year’s difficult harvest season.

You must immediately recall Parliament and table emergency legislation to get CN back on the job and to avoid the pain and economic calamity an ongoing strike would cause for the people of Perth-Wellington and across Canada.

Sincerely,

John Nater, M.P.

Perth-Wellington
