The Application Period for Canada Summer Jobs 2016 has been extended until March 11, 2016.

John Nater, Member of Parliament for Perth Wellington announced today that employers can now apply for funding under the Canada Summer Jobs 2016 program. This program will create thousands of job opportunities for students across the country.

Canada Summer Jobs provides funding to help employers create summer job opportunities for students. It is designed to focus on local priorities, while helping both students and their communities. Canada Summer Jobs: 

– provides work experiences for students 
– supports organizations, including those that provide important community services; and 
– recognizes that local circumstances, community needs and priorities vary widely.

Funding will be available to not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers and small businesses (under 50 employees) to hire qualified young people aged 15 to 30, who are full-time students and intend to return to school in the fall. Thousands of young Canadians will benefit from summer employment while helping employers address skills shortages.

The application period for Canada Summer Jobs 2016 will be from January 4, 2016 to March 11, 2016.
